Lock Vehicle Doors and Remove Valuable Items

Chester County, PA – The State Police and surrounding local police departments in West Chester PD, West Goshen PD, West Whiteland PD, and South Coatesville PD are investigating a rash of stolen vehicles and thefts from motor vehicles. We would like to remind citizens to lock their doors and remove all valuable items from their vehicles. If valuable items are in plain view within the vehicles, the suspects are smashing the windows and taking the valuable items. All of the vehicles stolen had the vehicle keys within the vehicles. Many vehicles were stolen from victim driveways regardless of security cameras in place. Despite many residences having cameras, the suspects stole the vehicles and items from within the vehicles.

We are asking citizens to be vigilant and call police for any suspicious activity.

These thefts are occurring during the cover of darkness and into the early morning hours as early/late as 0530 hours in the morning. These suspects are brazen and are not fearful of cameras or of people being home. Citizens are reminded to lock all doors, to include residences, at ALL times. There have been 2 occasions where these suspects have entered homes and stolen the vehicle keys from within the residences before stealing the vehicles.

Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact PSP Embreeville and speak with Trooper William CONNELLY or Trooper Adam MCCORMACK of the Criminal Investigation Unit.
