The Township offers a free collection of one large item per residence which is collected on the last trash pick-up day of each month (please see municipal calendar). An item for bulk collection should only be an item (or set) that cannot fit inside your toter. Small items can be placed in your toter for regular collection, i.e. small rugs, garden hoses, vacuum cleaners. Residents can schedule additional large items to be collected each Wednesday for a fee of $10 per item. Extra bags of trash are not considered bulk items. If you have an item, you're not sure will be considered a large item, please call the Township at 610-269-4174. Cardboard boxes or yard waste are also not considered large items. Cardboard boxes should be recycled, and yard waste should be composted. Building materials are not accepted.
Effective January 24, 2013, Pennsylvania residents no longer can dispose of cell phones, televisions, tablets, computers, monitors, and other electronic waste in their trash. These are not eligible items for large trash collection days.
These items will now be collected on Wednesdays, by appointment, at no charge. This will allow the Township to recycle these items with no disposal costs. Dishwashers are not recyclable and can be put out for bulk collection. As always, any other metal items can be disposed of at the Township Compost Site for recycling.
Effective January 2023, the Chester County Solid Waste Authority raised the fee for the disposal of mattresses and box springs. West Bradford Township will still collect these items, but residents must pre-pay the fee of $30 per item to the Township in advance of pick-up. Please contact the Township at 610-269-4174 to arrange pick-up.
The Township offers an additional service that will collect these items curbside with the refrigerant still in place. Residents must pre-pay a fee of $30 and schedule the pick-up in advance. Items will be picked up curbside on most Wednesdays of the month. The Township will recycle the refrigerant and the metal in the appliance. Please also remember that state law requires refrigerator and freezer doors to be removed before disposal for the protection of children.
