Fire Safety Reminder from WBFC

Emergency Services Posted on July 10, 2025

The West Bradford Fire Company recently responded to two trash can fires likely caused by improper disposal of used fireworks. Residents are reminded not to place any hot items—including used fireworks, ashes from wood stoves, or pellet stove embers—into trash toters or cans.

Used fireworks should be soaked in water for at least four hours before disposal. Similarly, ashes can remain dangerously hot for 5–7 days—store them in a metal bucket outdoors, and ensure they are fully extinguished before discarding.

Your help in following these guidelines keeps our community safe year-round. Thank you to our WBFC volunteers for their quick response and ongoing service!
