Native plants for West Bradford

Native plant species support the ecosystems of this area: if you want to preserve the birds and animals we all love in our township, you’ll choose native plants over non-native species. Native plants adapt more readily to local soils and support native pollinators. Unfortunately, many of the decorative plants in our landscapes are non-native and thus turn our yards into deserts for the animals hoping to live there.

The PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources identifies 2,100 plants native to Pennsyvannia, for sunny spots, part shade and woodland settings. Below are a few suggestions to get you started. There are also nearby nurseries that specialize in native plants.
